Interesting use of the Metal Cabinets "floating" as an entertainment center (left) and in a ship's armory (right).

In-Game Cabinet Inspo (found at the "Deserted Relay Station" POIs)

Several of the cabinets are blendable/smushable/fuseable, including the silver/metal ones pictured above as an entertainment center and in an armory, along with a few of the shiny, blue-white metallic cabinets (not pictured).

The secret is the direction of placement and having a lot of patience.

How-To

  • Place one metal cabinet in either size. This is the Parent item to which they will all be connected
  • Create another cabinet, but before you set it, slowly move it into the first one so that the fronts nearly align side-by-side
  • You can place them at an angle, or next to each other, depending on the look you're going for

Once you've connected by pushing them together, you can move them around as one piece by selecting the parent piece, the first one placed, even having them stay up without supports as long as the first item is supported. This is how the above entertainment center was created.

Shelves

Using the squishy corners to blend bookshelves together for a seamless "Built-ins" look

The shelves are not as dramatic as blending cabinets together, but the soft corners allow us to creat a seamless look with both the bookshelves and both metal shelves.

How-To

  • Place one shelf, then place another shelf but slowly push the corners together before finalizing the placement.
  • You can align the corners (as the above photo shows) or angle them depending upon the look you're going for.
  • Shelves won't usually move as a single unit even with the corners fuse, so if I need to move them they're built on a rug for easy transport

The tall, white shelves are versatile and can be used as shelves or walls, but they can be a pain to align.

Good news! The "left" facing one has a squishy front edge.

How-To

  • When scrolling through the shelving options, you'll come across 2 white shelves; place the first one down (we'll call that "Right Facing"), then the next item will be the "Left Facing" shelf.
