Traditionally a term used for making shoes, cobbling has a different meaning in the Elder Scrolls Online PC housing community. When we say cobbling, or mention a cobble, we’re referring to a recognizable item created by combining several other, usually non-related, furnishing items.
There are literally thousands of furnishing items available through crafting, locating antiquities, or earning achievements, but that’s not nearly enough. From vehicles and spacecraft, to household fixtures, to stunning pieces of art - cobbling literally allows us to create whatever we envision.
Links to items are included to assist with obtaining the specifiic items used, or to hunt down alternative furnishings if necessary.
Flip it - Flipping, spinning, or sinking an object into another item can see the object differently.
Familiarize - Spend time to look at the variety of items available on sites such as ESO-MMO-Fasion, UESP, or Lovelynorth. Visit other builds and try to figure out which items were used to create any cobbles you see. The official ESO forums - Housing have a great collection of pinned threads with photos showcasing the mind-blowing creativity of the housing community.
Just Do It - In my experience just picking up items and looking at the texture, size, reflective quality…etc has been the best way to discover how a furnishing may fit into future cobbles.
